Residents, businesses and organizations in the Salinas Valley can review proposed updates to the SVBGSA Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSP) and submit input after SVBGSA staff released draft amendments to the GSP for five of the six subbasins managed by the agency.
The plans provide a framework for long-term groundwater sustainability in the region, outlining management actions, potential projects and groundwater conditions needed to achieve it. GSP amendments have been prepared for:
- 180/400 Subbasin
- Eastside Subbasin
- Forebay Subbasin
- Langley Subbasin
- Upper Valley Subbasin
- Monterey Subbasin
GSPs are revised to adjust the management approach, sustainability criteria, project and management actions and other core elements, as work toward groundwater sustainability progresses.
All comments received by Nov. 18, 2026, will be included in the agenda packet for the Board meeting on Dec. 10, 2026. At this meeting, the Board will discuss and provide input on the draft GSP amendments prior to the public hearing. All comments received by Nov. 18, 2026, as well as any subsequent comments, will also be included Jan. 14, 2027, public hearing record and in the appendices of final GSP amendments.
