The Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SVBGSA) is developing Groundwater Sustainability Plans for the five subbasins: Eastside Aquifer, Monterey, Langley Area, Forebay Aquifer and Upper Valley Aquifer. In some cases, we will be sharing the development of our plans with local partner agencies. To ensure your customers are informed about the GSP development process, we are reaching out to local small water systems and state small water systems. These Groundwater Sustainability Plans will ultimately outline how each subbasin will meet its sustainability goals.
To help support this process and ensure that SVBGSA is representing the interests of the community, stakeholder committees have been formed. They are charged with providing strategic direction and local input into the development of the GSPs. All meetings are open to public participation and details can be found on the SVBGSA website at https://svbgsa.org/meetings/.
Also as part of this effort, you are invited to a Virtual Town Hall Meeting, scheduled for October 28th, 2020 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. We hope that you will join us to learn more about the GSP development process and how small water system stakeholders can provide input.
