EXTENDED FILING DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 2, 2020

The Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SVBGSA) was created by a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) in December 2016 pursuant to the California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. The SVBGSA is governed by eleven primary Directors, and each primary director has an alternate director who serves in his or her absence. In keeping with the JPA provisions, Monterey County appoints the Public Member Directors to the Board.

Directors must be permanent residents within the Basin, or representatives of an agency with jurisdiction, or a business or organization with a presence within the Basin. The term of the Alternate Public Member Director expires July 2022.

Applicants should complete the application and email it to clerk@svbgsa.org by November 2, 2020. The SVBGSA Board will consider making an appointment recommendation prior to forwarding applications to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors for consideration.
