SVBGSA wants to know how flooding has impacted you
The Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency and other Multi-Benefit Land Repurposing Program partners are working with Dr. Helen Dahlke and Dr. JayLee Tuil from the University of California Davis to develop a recharge suitability map and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) tool. Recharge suitability mapping begins with identifying the local goals of groundwater recharge. The MCDA will be an outcome of this work that will help the region prioritize suitable groundwater recharge locations.
To gather further input for this project, a survey is being conducted to collect information about known areas of flooding and potential groundwater recharge sites.
In addition, there is a Salinas Valley Recharge Work Group that will be meeting monthly over the next year to provide input for the creation of the recharge suitability maps. The first virtual meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 4-5 p.m.
