Salinas Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency is requesting applications for the 180/400-ft Aquifer Subbasin Committee.  Applications are due by 5:00 pm on August 18th.

The 180/400-ft Aquifer Subbasin Committee will advise and provide recommendations on the implementation of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan for the Subbasin. The intent of the Committee is to review the sustainability status and ensure the Subbasin is on a path to sustainability.

Duties: Monitor subbasin sustainability criteria, prioritize subbasin specific projects and management actions, seek community input and identify preferred funding mechanisms.

Membership: Interested stakeholders who have demonstrated effective collaboration and leadership working on water related topics.

Criteria for members are to:

  • Work collaboratively with others
  • Commit time needed for thoughtful engagement
  • Experience with collaboration and leadership working on water related topics

Applicants should live or work within the boundaries of the 180/400-Foot Aquifer Subbasin. There is a two-year requested time commitment. There will be no alternates and seats will be assigned to the individual who applies (not an organization).  Once established, the Committee will determine the meeting frequency and schedule.

Committee membership will not exceed 12 members. Applications will be submitted to the SVBGSA Executive Committee for review at their August 26th meeting. The SVBGSA Board of Directors will appoint Committee members during the September 9th meeting.
